Belleron Robert Blue Bird, Sr. was born on January 15, 1962 in Pine Ridge, SD to Bryan Blue Bird, Sr. and Theodora Tail. Belleron, Sr. made his journey to the Spirit World on July 30, 2020 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.

Belleron coached Pee- Wee Basketball at Our Lady of Lourdes and was also the Physical Education Teacher. Belleron was also a Security Guard at the O.S.T. Headquarters, and worked for the Oglala Sioux Lakota Housing Authority as a plumber for numerous years.

Belleron graduated from O.C.S. in 1981. Belleron enjoyed playing fast pitch, basketball, watching sports, and was a proud Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Belleron loved his children and grandchildren very much and he will be greatly missed.

Belleron is survived by his children, Belleron Blue Bird, Jr. and Terri Mesteth both of Porcupine, SD, Richard A. Blue Bird of Pine Ridge, SD, William D. Blue Bird, Belle R. Blue Bird, and Catherine Blue Bird all of Rapid City, SD, Timothy R. White Dress of Kyle, SD, and Karen Mesteth of Sioux Falls, SD; spouse, Lucille White Dress of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Carla (Tom) Cheyenne of Cheyenne, WY, Theresa Blue Bird of Rapid City, SD, Bryan Blue Bird, Jr., Lonnie Richard, Ryan Blue Bird, Jeanette Black Elk, and Howard Blue Bird all of Pine Ridge, SD, Carol (Paul) Madden of Pine Bluffs, WY, Marie Giron of Denver, CO, Tommy Blue Bird of California, and Danielle LeBeaux of Porcupine, SD; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.

Belleron was preceded in death by his grandfather, Asa Two Dogs, Sr., grandmother, Edna Lone Hill-Two Dogs; father, Bryan Blue Bird, Sr.; mother, Theodora Tail; uncle, Asa Two Dogs, Jr.; aunts, Kaye Red Hail, Edna Apple, and Regina Grabbing Bear; niece, Jackie Richard, father-in-law, Francis White Dress, Sr.; daughter, Emily Blue Bird; son, Asa D. Blue Bird; and sister, Brenda Blue Bird.

Funeral Services were held on August 8, 2020 at the Porcupine Presbyterian Church Grounds in Porcupine, SD. Traditional Lakota Services by Mr. Tom Cheyenne. Burial Services were held at the Porcupine Presbyterian Cemetery, Porcupine, SD. Arrangements entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD.
