CUSTER – Crazy Horse Memorial is pleased to announce Oglala Lakota artist, Tracy Harrison, as the Artist in Residence for the month of September. Throughout the month, Tracy will be working in the artist’s studio in the Native American Educational and Cultural Center. She will be presenting an Artist Talk to the public every Wednesday at 12:30 PM.
Harrison lives in Keystone, South Dakota, and creates dreamcatchers using traditional techniques and natural materials such as willow hoops and antlers. During her residency she will be creating a series of dreamcatchers including a special buffalo dreamcatcher that will tell the story of the sacredness and meaning of dreamcatchers to the Lakota people.
