The 2018/19 season saw a number of younger players step up and help their teams, giving all of us a glimpse of things to come; outstanding newcomers include Shayla Bravo and Chancy Witt/Pine Ridge, Allie Richards, Raina Ghost Bear and Angelina LeBeau/Red Cloud and Melina Shangreaux and Angelina Brave/Little Wound.

This season featured both outstanding team and individual play, Todd County after losing three players, won the LNI championship and went onto take fifth in the State A tournament. Red Cloud lost their best player, 6’1” senior Emonee Pourier during the final practice before the first game, the Lady Saders took time to adjust then improved each game, losing in the SoDak 16 to Winner, the eventual State A champion. Pine Ridge had a veteran team coming back but found young players, eighth and ninth graders to add depth and a special spark throughout the season, losing in the SoDak 16 to Todd County. White River made it to the State B, the first time in years. A great year but an awful lot to look forward to next year.
