LETTER TO THE EDITOR

LISTEN

Dear Editor:

First and Foremost, I would like to humbly say Wopila Tanka for all you do for our Native Communities. Also we hope this letter finds you in high spirits.

I’m writing in regards to, My outreach for assistance and guidance for our non-profit 5019d) organization. We exclusively exist for the advantage for all enrolled tribal members whom are incarcerated here at Rapid City Community Work Center.

Our traditional values, this portal to total spiritual awareness. We as inmates struggle with our chosen choices and also what brought us to this temporary place and time. This situation is mired by the privation of support. The importance of B.H.C. is crucial. Still we receive no financial backing from the State of South Dakota Department of Corrections. We are humbled and we make due with what the creator provides for us.

However, what we lack in materials we reach out for and ask for assistance and direction. The Resources provided to us are limited and gained by outside donations. Material needed for our spiritual sweats are Rocks and Wood. Botanicals are graciously appreciated.

In conclusion, to this heart felt letter, we humbly ask for assistance and prayers. And Wopila Tanks for taking the time to read and if available, pass on this request from a young man who is looking to move onto the next step for a positive life and direction in our recovery. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Franklin Whiting Jr.

B.H.C. Vice-President/ US Army Veteran/ Grass Dancer
