MISSION – Greg Grey Cloud and Corinne Rick were married September 25 in front of a backdrop of horses grazing among a scattered tipi encampment of tipis.

The setting behind the wedding lodge tipi created a scene in which their Lakota ancestors were married in.

Grey Cloud said they wanted to create space for our ancestors to be able to come and celebrate with them as well as friends and family. They were married at the Sinte Gleska University Horse Ranch by Chief Duane Hollow Horn Bear. The birchwood style cake was made by Edwina Fills The Pipe of Pine Ridge. The meal was catered by Wesley Colombe of All Stop Inc. and consisted of pulled pork sliders, short ribs, coleslaw, corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, and the bride’s family provided traditional corn soup.

Bridesmaids were Reshea Rebenstorf,

Cheyenne Richardson, Loretta Grey Cloud and Robin Red Hawk and groomsmen Brian Brown, Mike Prue, Mason Redwing, Bryson Many Horses. Pat Bad Hand Sr served as the eyapaha.

Corinne is from the San Francisco bay area in California and is of Mohawk and Lakota descent and daughter to Heidi and Steve Switzer and John Perera. Greg is from the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and son to Kimberly Dempsey and the late Duane Grey Cloud.

They are making their home on the Rosebud, Sicangu Makoce. Corinne is a journalist with Powwows.com and owns a Diversity Equity and Inclusion consulting firm. Greg works as an Equine Therapist at the Sinté Gleska University in Mission as well as co-founder of Wica Agli, an organization for men.

All the bridesmaid’s makeup was provided by Prados Beauty, a native owned makeup business located in Arizona and the wedding photographer was Nedhanness Greene of Minnesota.
